*sighs* I balled the yarn for the shawl, so I could get started. I went and began to cast on, only to find the yarn snagging on my new bamboo needles! There's a splinter on it, and I can't get rid of it. I'm going to try and take it back tomorrow, see if they'll swap it for another one. Have to make sure to check my other bamboo needles, so I won't have the same problem with those. Sucks though, because now I have to knit hurriedly to get the shawl finished I already was working on. Bleh. Hopefully they'll swap, but in the meantime..off a knitting I go!

You know, you can transfer the shawl that's hogging the needles onto something else - you can use your new needles as a holder, if you transfer the stitches using the needle that doesn't snag. That way you'll have your good needles to work on the nessessary project. You could even thread a tapestry needle with some scrap yarn and transfer the shawl-in-progress onto that for the time being.

true enough. Or I could just buckle down and knit my butt off today to finish it ^_~ Would still give me time, and all I have left to do is les then a whole skein. But I'm going to try and exchange it today *crosses fingers*
