Sock!

Well, after having frogged the first attempt at the sock, and then having brightshadowsky help me figure it out again, I've now gotten a long way on my second attempt. About...half way through the foot I'd say. And *knocks on wood* so far, so good. I'm very pleased with it. However, when I showed my sock (which at the time was only the toes) to Trina, she seemed less then impressed and guessed it was a lot of things other then a sock before I told her. I guess I won't be making socks for her. Except maybe Ducks socks, so she can deck out for the games. I was thinking of making her Ducks socks, armwarmers, gloves, scarf and maybe even legwarmers. Oh, and a headband. But that's not happening for a while yet. Just future stuff, you know.
Oh well, so what if she isn't as into socks as I am. There's plenty of other people who would appreciate them ^_^

Not your childhood Smurfs

I'm not entirely sure what I think of this. On the one hand, I agree with them. It is a good tactic to use something as basic a childhood memory as the Smurfs to convey something as ugly as war. I do, really. But on the other hand...it's the Smurfs! I don't know.... I just have to wonder what the response is going to be in the long run.
