So I've been very busy the last many weeks, crafting. Not that I've got much to show for it. I've had several different things blow up in my face (not litterally!). So I'm bummed. Well, sort of.
I'm not even going to go into what I've been attempting to do. Some were new to me crafts, some were things I've done before that just would not work for me.
So today, I figured I'd try something else. Something new. Again. It was/is fun to do. However, some of the results are not as I had hoped. I can't get into what I'm making yet, as some of it's meant to be gifts. But yeah, some of the paint's not dry yet, so I can't be sure of the end result. Please let stuff just start to work! I don't have too much time left. And I just would like to get back to feeling good about what I love to do. *sigh*

[livejournal.com profile] brightshadowsky! Thank you for your presents ^_^. I'll be bringing the spindle-thingy along so you can show me how to work it lol. I love the markers as well, thank you ^_^ *snugs*. Only a few more days until we get to see you again ^_^. Dustin and I are both looking forward to the trip ^_^. By the by, you're working on Friday, I presume?
Thank you, also, [livejournal.com profile] arianadream, for holding on to the presents for me ^_^ *snugs*. It was nice to spend a little time with you again.

Well, I know I've been rather quiet these past few days. That's mainly because Dustin's been hogging the computer again. That's what I get for having him take two consecutive days off *chuckles*. Ahh well, it was nice to have him home for a few days. We got taken out to Ambrosia's on Saturday, as a belated anniversary gift from Trina. She also was designated driver, which meant I could endulge for a change and have a drink, weeee ^_^. No, I did not get sloshed, just happily buzzed lol. It was fun though, and good food! The only thing that saddened me a little was that they no longer had the hazelnut martini that I've been craving this past year. The bartender made something up, but it wasn't the same.

The rest of the time I've been either sleeping or knitting, pretty much. Well, with some church in there somewhere on Sunday, of course lol. It's nice going regularly again.

Ok, I'd best continue reading LJ now. I'm a bit behind, don't you know ^_~

*headdesk* This is getting to be too much. I'm all for political correctness. In moderation (as with most things). But this PC is going too far in my book. They're trying to make Christmas be somethign other. Carols are out, if they (whoever "they" are) get their way. And the Christmas tree should be the Holiday Tree. Come on people! Christmas is Christmas. Leave it be! You really want to spoil the one time a year when we're "allowed" to be the way we ought to be the rest of the year (para-phrased from somewhere, I forget where exactly)? Leave Christmas to be Christmas and allow it the magical time it can be. Celebrate your holiday the way you deem fit. If you don't do Christmas, but do Hanukkah or Kwanzaa or whatever, do it. I'm not picky about it. I don't care what you call it for you. But for me, Christmas is Christmas, and I defy anyone to change my mind about it

Christmas Shoes was on the radio again this morning. First time this year I've heard it, and sure enough, it made me cry, again. I went about my routine though, and while out delivering, a guy saw me cry and Dustin told me as I got back in the car, had given him a very dirty look. Almost as if he was blaming Dustin for me crying. Oh dear *chuckles*.  I just did some googling to see if I could get an audible version of the song to share, like with the song I posted about a few days ago, but no luck. What I did find was a lot of reviews, not many of them good. It seems like most people hate this song. And that they don't feel too kindly about people who actually like it. Well, I'm sorry they feel that way. They can go take a hike, as far as I'm concerned ^_~.

I finally have some ideas for Christmas gifts! Unfortunately, that's as much as I can tell you guys at the moment, since some of you will be receiving them (provided I manage to actually make them this year). But yay, I have ideas!!! *chuckles and goes off to contemplate creating stuff*

I'm loving the sock-knitting so far ^_^. Funny thing is, I was chatting with both my mom and her sister the other day, and I happened to mention to my aunt that I had learned to knit socks. Her response: "ewwwwww!!! I hate knitting socks, it's the worst!". When I told my mom about how my aunt had reacted, she laughed and said it was probably because of the nuns back when they were in school. Apparently, they made them knit socks and potholders. In a not too friendly fashion. My how times have changed, eh?
I am, however, starting to get a bit nervous. I'm a little less then an inch away from starting the heel, and I'm not sure I remember how [livejournal.com profile] yarnpirate said to do it. *bites lip* I shall do my best, however, and go from there.
By the way, [livejournal.com profile] yarnpirate, someone commented to my post on [livejournal.com profile] knitting, she wanted to know what pattern I was using. Since you slightly altered the pattern you taught me to be easier to manage, I told her I'd ask you to post the pattern????? Is that possible?

I still don't know what I'll be doing for Christmas gifts this year. The plans I had made last Christmas so I'd be better prepared for this one kind of all fell through *sigh*. Of course, it doesn't help that I still can't go full spead ahead with crafting because of my arm. Though it's behaving pretty good so far, I don't want to overdo it. Yet ^_~.

I also still need to go through all the stuff I've already got and see what all I've got ready for the craft fair, and what I can feasably make for it. Dustin and I are both going to try make some jewelry, that is one thing I do know. As for the rest, not so sure yet. I had hoped to make some shawls, but not sure that can happen. Ahhh, so many things to do, so little time!

Christmas

Hmm, It's already July, and it's high time to start thinking about Christmas gifts. I had a plan laid out last year, so that I would have plenty of time to get ready. But that plan went poof due to the Prayer Shawl Ministry taking off the way it did. Not that that's a bad thing, it just means that I am now behind. Also, a lot of the stuff I had intended to make, now won't be appropriate anymore, so I'm going to have to figure out something else. And at the moment, I am clueless. Dustin doesn't have any ideas either, so there's no help to be had there.
I think I may make potholders for Trina and Teresa, since they both have a household. Not sure if it'd make sense to do some for Bethany, since she's moving in with her boyfriend's parents for the time being. For the kids, it's easier. I'm going to try and make some clothes and stuff for the babies. For Treanna I think I'll try making a bag or something, maybe even something to wear, depending on time and what I've got available. Casper...not a clue. Probably will end up buying him something Spiderman. Other then that though..not a clue. What so ever. *sigh*
Funny thing I've noticed as well. Every year there's been a Christmas in July sale going on, but I've yet to see one this year. The one year where I'd be able to make some use of it at least. Figures!
