'A Child's View of Thunderstorms'

A little girl walked to and from school daily. Though the weather that morning was questionable and clouds were forming, she made her daily trek to the elementary school.

As the after noon progressed, the winds whipped up, along with lightning. The mother of the little girl felt concerned that her daughter would be frightened as she walked home from school and she feared the electrical storm might harm her child.

Full of concern, the mother quickly got into her car and drove along the route to her child's school. As she did she saw her little girl walking along. At each flash of lightning, the child would stop, look up, and smile.

Another and another flash of lighting followed quickly and with each the little girl would look at the streak of light and smile. When the mother's car drew up beside the child she lowered the window and called to her 'What are you doing?' The child answered 'I am trying to look pretty because God keeps taking my picture.'

May God bless you today and everyday as you face the storms that come your way...

Ok, so a new phishing scam out there. New to me, at least. [livejournal.com profile] fedexcourier, you may want to pay special attention, and tell your superiors or something?

I'm putting it behind a cut, because it's looooooong....

FedEx Online Delivery )

I'm pretty sure that FedEx does not send these kinds of messages. At least, I would hope not. The structure's horrible and the entire thing's littered with errors.

For everyone who loves Christian music and lives in the Portland, Oregon area:

City Fest (scroll down to Portland) is a free event, and has some awesome artists like Toby Mack, Mercy Me and Kutless. Luis Palau will be speaking and there's a ton of other stuff going on too. I wish we could go, but our schedules will not allow for it (piffle and fiddlesticks!), but I wanted you to know in case you'd like to attend ^_^

Wow, this was not a fun day. And a definite Friday 13th! I got rear-ended this morning on my way to get gas after the route. The car's barely got a scratch, and I think I'm ok. I'm hurting as hell, but it's hard to tell if it's just muscle ache from tensing up during the collision, the fibro being what it is or the stress of it all compounding what already wasn't a good fibro day to begin with.
I could not stop crying and shaking for a good 45-60 minutes after it happened. I got Trina to come pick me up, as I didn't feel it was safe for me to drive in that condition. The car was left in the parking lot of the Red Lion Hotel (very nice people there, I might add), until such time as she was able to pick it up after work and get it home to me (which she has now done, and which is why I am up, partially. More on that in a bit). That was my first accident as a driver, second one total in my life. I pray it was my last one ever. I do not think adrenaline rushes (and the subsequent crashes) agree with me very much.
Dustin was home when it happened, as I'd given him the day off. When I called him and told him what had happened, I asked him to please have tea ready (he normally does not make tea. Ever. He claims that he doesn't know how to do it properly, so that it tastes as good as when I make it. Nonsense, if you ask me, but ok). He told me he was already putting on the water for it. Love that man ^_^.

Eh, brain not functioning properly..... anyway, bottom line is that insurance has been called, information exchanged, and I'm waiting to see if things get worse before calling a doctor (since I'm going off the premise that it's just my muscles reacting to tensing up).
As for why I'm awake... I got woken up by UPS, followed by Trina not half an hour after that. And now I can't fall back asleep. Blah.....

After 40 Years Of Marriage

A married couple in their early 60s was celebrating  their 40th
wedding anniversary in a quiet, romantic little restaurant.
Suddenly, a tiny yet beautiful fairy appeared on their table.
She said, 'For being such an exemplary married couple and for
being loving to each other for all this time, I will grant you
each a wish.' The wife answered, 'Oh, I want to travel around
the  world with my darling husband.' The fairy waved her
magic wand and - poof! - two tickets for the Queen Mary II appe
ared in her hands. The husband thought for a moment: 'Well, this
is all very romantic, but an opportunity like this will never
come again. I'm sorry my love, but my wish is to have a wife 30 years
younger than me.' The wife, and the fairy, were
deeply disappointed, but a wish is a wish. So the fairy
waved her magic wand and poof!...the husband became 92 years
old. The moral of this story: Men who are ungrateful
bastards should remember fairies are female.....
