Quick update
Oct. 14th, 2004 05:15 pmOk, here goes. Uncle Dan was in a very bad car accident, they fell off a 350 foot mountain, rolling over 40 times or so. The rescuers said that none of them should have survived, but all did (thank God!). One of them had broken his tailbone and lost his shoes in the crash, but climbed up the mountain after tearing his shirt to put on his feet, and then walked 2 miles for help. Talk about a hero! Anyway, uncle Dan and the boy were sent to Sacred Heart because they were seriously injured (the boy almost lost his head, litterally!). From my understanding, uncle Dan got ripped a new one (litterally *shudders*), broke a few bones (I think) and broke his neck. They predict he'll be able to move fully in time. I believe he had other injuries as well, but I don't remember what they are exactly. Needless to say he's in a lot of pain and isn't out of the woods yet. He's had 2 surgeries already and is still in ICU by last account.
I went to tell Dustin last night before intending to head out to the hospital. He actually got someone to come to work for him and was able to come along with me, but by that time we were to go to the house instead, as Trina had taken aunt Trina (confused yet??) to her place for a shower and stuff. No one was allowed to see uncle Dan anyway, so we were just to go and be there for her at that point, so we did. We stayed late and then after the route we stopped by the hospital as he was supposed to go in for surgery at 7am. We wanted to be there for aunt Trina. We hung around until around 11am, long enough to find out he'd come through OK and was feeling a little better, if still very groggy. He's got control over his own ...I forget what the drug's called now, go figure. It's the really bad pain reliever stuff that can get you hooked, starts with an m I think....gah..brain fart! Anyway..... Please continue to keep him and his family (and doctors and caretakers) in your prayers. He's got a very, very long road of recovery ahead of him. I'll update when I know more. For now, I have got to get out of here.

elfie_chan and Alex are supposed to come, but she called to say they may not make it as they're in the hospital for gladder tidings. Their God-child is about to be born. Mommy's in labor now, so they're staying with her. Please keep them in your prayers as well! New baby = exciting!
