Dec. 3rd, 2005 06:44 amEep! Had a bit of an adventure on the route this morning. One I don't care to repeat in any way, shape or form. While dellivering papers, two guys approached Dustin as he was sitting in the car. As I got back in the car, I hear one of them telling Dustin that a guy a bit further on was waving a gun around and threatening their group. We both looked over and sure enough, we saw him do so. So I backed up straight away and called 911. The guy took off on his bike as soon as he saw us back up. Nothing further happened, other then hanging on the phone with the dispatcher for about 10 minutes, and then a while later getting called back by an officer who needed further information, which took another 10 minutes or so. I hope they catch the guy, I really do. Needless to say, I didn't feel very safe during the rest of the route. Normally I don't have any problems being downtown at that time of night, even with the few drunks and weirdos you can meet there on occassion. I'd take them over this guy anytime!
So now here I am, at home alone. I lit some candles and put on some Christmas music, in an effort to try and regain some sense of peace and calm. So far it seems to be working. I am thankful though, that the police responded as quickly as they did, and I am also thankful for the two guys who approached us. If they hadn't warned us, God only knows what could've happened. I am also thankful for Dustin being there. He makes me feel safe, I know if anything had happened, he would have been there to make sure I was alright.
